Détails du produit

The BP590 narrow bandpass filter is a lens filter designed to pass light with a peak wavelength of 590 nm and a useful range between 560–620 nm, while blocking all other wavelengths.

It mounts directly onto a standard machine vision lens using the built-in filter thread.

A wide selection of thread sizes ensures the BP590 can be paired securely with your lens, maintaining consistent optical performance across diverse machine vision environments.

BP590 Narrow Bandpass Filter Overview

Narrow bandpass filters function by transmitting only a defined portion of the light spectrum while blocking all other wavelengths.

For the BP590, transmission exceeds 90% at the 590 nm peak, and remains above 80% throughout the 560–620 nm useful wavelength range, which corresponds to a 60 nm FWHM (±5 nm).

Select the Correct BP590 Lens Filter Size

Because lenses come in different sizes, the BP590 filter is available in several standard thread options, making it suitable for both compact and larger lenses.

• C-mount filter

• 0.5 thread (pitch): M22.5×0.5, M25.5×0.5, M27×0.5, M30.5×0.5, M34×0.5, M35.5×0.5, M37×0.5, M37.5×0.5, M40.5×0.5

• 0.75 thread (pitch): M37×0.75, M43×0.75, M46×0.75, M49×0.75, M52×0.75, M55×0.75, M58×0.75, M60×0.75, M62×0.75, M67×0.75, M72×0.75

BP590 Narrow Bandpass Filter Applications

The BP590 bandpass filter is optimized to transmit light centered at 590 nm, rejecting stray wavelengths outside the target band. This level of spectral precision enhances contrast, color accuracy, and measurement repeatability across various optical and imaging systems.

When used at 590 nm, the filter functions as a color-selective element for monochrome imaging—allowing the orange/amber wavelength region to pass while blocking surrounding and complementary wavelengths. Bandpass filters follow a subtractive imaging principle, meaning orange components remain bright while opposing colors become suppressed.

Pairing a broad-spectrum or white-light source with the BP590 isolates a clean 590 nm band, resulting in:

• improved contrast

• enhanced separation of fine details

• reduced ambient light interference

• more stable and consistent imaging

These characteristics make the BP590 ideal for demanding machine vision inspections, where small differences in surface finish, color variation, or material traits must be detected reliably under fluctuating lighting conditions.

Typical Applications for the 590 nm bandpass lens filter

• Amber/orange LED or laser illumination

• Surface defect detection

• Fluorescence or color-based inspection

• Color analysis and contrast enhancement within the orange spectral region

Integrating the BP590 Filter into Machine Vision Systems

Most machine vision lenses include a front-mounted filter thread, allowing the BP590 filter to be attached directly.

If you are using a C-mount lens on a GigE camera or USB3 camera, the filter can also be placed inside the C-mount connection instead of on the front of the lens.

This option is particularly useful when the lens lacks a front filter thread.

Positioning the filter between the camera and lens keeps it fixed in the optical path, maintaining optical alignment and stable imaging performance.

These flexible installation options make the BP590 easy to incorporate into existing setups without modifying your current camera or lens configuration.

BP590 Narrow Bandpass Filter: Core Advantages
