The user-friendly industrial camera housing is a compact, high-quality enclosure that provides optimal protection for your machine vision camera and lens. With the camera housing, it is possible to use your machine vision camera in humid and dusty environments. Machine vision cameras are a crucial part of industrial automation. IP67 waterproof enclosure

The enclosure has been developed to meet the IP67 standards. IP67 means dustproof and waterproof (protected against immersion up to 1 meter deep for 30 minutes). The IP67 tested camera enclosure features a two-piece sealing concept: for the body and the lens (front cap). The enclosure concept is based on 1 part aluminum and 1 part industrial polymer. The blue aluminum part of the machine vision housing serves as a heatsink. The heatsink ensures that the heat is dissipated from the camera. At an ambient temperature above 35 degrees, it's mandatory to attach the camera enclosure to a metal profile, so that the heat can be further dissipated. The glass in the front cap of the enclosure transmits frequencies between 400 and 1000 nm.

Modular Camera Housing: Adjustable Lens Length with Extension Rings

The front cap section of the housing is modular so that different lens length can be used. Each enclosure will be delivered including a 20mm front cap and four 15mm extension rings. This allows the enclosure length to be adapted to different lens lengths. Lens length is measured from the front of the C-mount camera to the front of the lens. Maximum Supported Lens Diameter is 74mm.

With the standard package and included extension rings, the following lens lengths are possible. 

-          No extension ring, max lens length 18.5mm

-          15mm extension ring, max lens length 33.5mm

-          15mm + 15mm extension rings, max lens length 48.5mm

-          15mm + 15mm + 15mm extension rings, max lens length 63.5mm

-          15mm + 15mm + 15mm + 15mm extension rings, max lens length 78.5mm

Additionally, you have the option of buying the extension rings:

-          VA-ACC-MVEC-267-IP-TUBEx2, two extra 15mm extension rings to support a lens length of max 108mm

This modular approach with extension rings allows the housing to be adapted to different camera and lens combinations while maintaining a secure and protected camera setup.

Note: In the event of damage to the original front cap, there is no need to replace the complete camera housing. The damaged front section can be replaced separately. The spare front cap is available: VA-ACC-MVEC-267-IP-FRONTCAP. This accessory can also be purchased together with the camera housing.

What makes our machine vision camera housing special?

1. The camera housing vent rapidly equalize the pressures while blocking water and contaminants. It ensures that the air pressure is the same inside the enclosure as outside. This prevents gaskets from leaking.
2. USB3 or GigE cable entry. Waterproof termination on the cable (tested with our USB3 and GigE Cables), eliminating the need for expensive IP67 cables. You can use our standard cable. However, our Highflex cables are excluded. If you use cables from other suppliers we can’t guarantee a good sealing.
3. The camera housing is provided with a cable gland for an I / O cable (as standard this is closed with a plug).
4. The camera housing has a front cap. The front cap can be extended by placing extension rings. This makes it possible to adjust the length of the front cap to the lens you are using. Four 15mm extension rings are supplied with the enclosure.
5. The front cap of the enclosure is easy and quick to mount / dismount due to the bayonet fitting (turn a small turn to the right).
6. Many machine vision camera brands (maximum size 44x44mm) are supported in the enclosure, like AVT, Flir, Basler, and Daheng Imaging.
7. One housing / article number for all brands of cameras. 2 adapter plates and 4 front cap rings are supplied per housing, so that you can always fit the enclosure.

Compatibility with Third-Party Cameras

The VA-MVEC-267-IP enclosures are compatible with cameras from manufacturers such as Allied Vision, JAI, FLIR, Basler, IDS, and others. Compatibility depends on factors including the enclosure model, camera dimensions, mounting arrangement, lens dimensions, and cabling requirements.

Adapter plates for Basler, FLIR, AVT and many more cameras

Standard we include 2 different mounting plates, type1 and type2. Depending on the camera model, you only need to use one of these adapter plates. Beside Daheng Imaging we also support Basler, FLIR, Allied Vision (AVT) and many other camera models with a maximum dimension of 44x44mm.

Adapter plate 1 (29mm):

Starting at 50 pieces, we can make a customized adapter plate for you, ensuring your camera fits perfectly into the housing. The maximum camera dimensions are 44x44mm. For low volume and if your camera has a height of 25-34mm, you could consider to take adapter plate 1 or 2 and drill extra holes in it to fit you camera. When the camera has a height of 29mm, it will be perfectly outlined in the center of the housing. When you camera has a height of 25 or 34mm, your camera will be 2mm off center.

Daheng Imaging camera enclosure

Our camera housing is fully compatible with the with a cameras with maximum dimension 44 × 44 mm  and from Daheng Imaging, including the MER2, MER3, ME2S, and ME2P series. Daheng cameras can typically be identified by their type number, which starts with MER2 or MER3. The housing supports cameras with USB3, GigE, and GigE with PoE interfaces. For MER2 and MER3(USB), Adapter Plate Type 1 and, for ME2P,ME2S, MER3 GigE, Apater Plate Type 2 is required. The camera enclosure provides additional protection for your Daheng Imaging camera.

Lens Compatibility: We designed the housing to accommodate our 6 mm wide-angle lens for 1.1″ sensors. Please note that this lens provides a fully clear image when used with a 1″ sensor. When used with a 1.1″ sensor, however, some vignetting (dark corners) may occur. For 1.1″ sensors, we therefore recommend using a lens with a focal length of 8 mm or longer to avoid dark corners and achieve optimal image coverage. The housing is also compatible with our M12 3.3 mm wide-angle lens.
