The 5MP 04MM C-mount lens is part of the 5MP 2/3” lens series. A range of focal lengths is available in this lens series to accommodate different application requirements. This VA-LCM-5MP-4MM-F2.8-015-RUG lens has a 04MM focal length and an F-number of F2.8. 

5MP 04MM C-mount lens

The iris of this 5MP 04MM C-mount lens is fixed at F2.8. The focus can be manually adjusted and secured with a focus lock-ring. Other fixed F-numbers are available upon request. Additionally, the VA-LCM-5MP-4MM-F2.8-015-RUG lens features a C-mount for easy mounting on your machine vision camera. Our C-mount lenses are designed to meet the durability and reliability requirements of industrial environments. They are built to withstand challenging industrial conditions. C-mount Lens Shock & Vibration Test

The industrial C-mount lens for machine vision applications is tested for shock and vibration. The lens is designed with glass elements that are fixed with a pressure ring. The lenses are tested under the following conditions:

Vibration testing for the Ruggedized Lenses

1)    Random vibration test
Vibration tests conducted in 3 axes:
- 5~10Hz: +12 dB/oct;
- 10~50Hz: 0.04m2/s3 (0.000416 g2/Hz)
- 50~100Hz: -12dB/oct
The total root-mean-square acceleration is 0.15Grms.

2)     Sinusoidal vibration test
Vibration tests conducted in 3 axes:
- Test frequency: 10~150Hz
- Test magnitude: acceleration amplitude 1g
- Test time: Frequency sweep test - the number of frequency sweeps in each axial cycle is 1

Shock test for the Ruggedized Lenses
Shock tests conducted in 3 axes:
- Test magnitude: acceleration amplitude 20g/11ms;
- 100 pulses in each axis;

Resolving power of the 5MP 2/3” lens series

To create sharp images, we recommend combining the 5MP 2/3” lens series with industrial cameras that have a resolution of up to 5MP. The recommended camera pixel size for this 5MP 04MM C-mount lens is 3.45μm. It has a resolving power of 100 line pairs per mm (lp/mm). The resolving power is determined by the number of pairs of black and white lines that can be distinguished. This is measured per millimeter of image space. A higher number of line pairs per mm indicates a higher spatial resolution; therefore, the camera or lens system can resolve finer details in the image. Lens Product Life Cycle Management

The 5MP 04MM C-mount lens is sold in large numbers and will be produced for a long time. Nearly every lens model that has been introduced since our start still remains in stock. Additionally, if the VA-LCM-5MP-4MM-F2.8-015-RUG lens approaches its End of Life (EOL), we are committed to keeping you informed. All of our customers will receive a final notification with the opportunity for a last-time buy. We also assure that after EOL, a new production run can always be initiated with a Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) of 300 pieces of the 5MP 04MM C-mount lens. 

Quality control & warranty of our lenses

The lens production quality control process is built on several methodical steps. The process for lenses such as the 5MP 04MM C-mount lens starts with a quality check of the incoming raw materials and preparation of the production line. This preparation includes a check of workers' PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and the cleaning of equipment. During production, each step follows a strict process controlled by visual or tool-aided inspections.
